The xxâs Romy has teamed up with Sampha for the new song âIâm on Your Team.â It comes with a video that the British musicians filmed at the London-based artist workersâ cooperative Not/Nowhere. Watch it below.
âItâs a love song but lyrically, itâs honest and truthful,â Romy said of âIâm on Your Team,â which she and Sampha made with co-producer and composer Thomas Bartlett. âLike, âweâve had the magic and dreaminess but now weâve been through things together, so here we are and Iâm putting in the work.ââ
Sampha added, âI love the idea of being part of a team, that you have to show up for each other, and from there you can create an even deeper connection.â
Romy released her first solo album, Mid Air, in 2023. She recently collaborated with her xx bandmates Jamie xx and Oliver Sim on the track âWaited All Night.â
Sampha also released an album in 2023, Lahai. He shared its deluxe edition, featuring three new tracks, earlier this month.
